Realities

It is hard to conceive that we (Rhys and I) will be leaving Thaialand is less than a year. And true to form we have nothing finalized. I am starting to seek  financial aid to finance this move and sorting what must remein. After such a long time away it is very unnerving to face the reality of this move.

have i been away too long

Thoughts that cross my mind. There are so many. I have just finished the big canvas entitlrd,"Samurai of Peace". I hope people can undr stand what I'm trying to say. Recently two of my children made contact with me after a long silence on all our parts. Some times we damage or destroy what or whom we love. Love can be more dangerous than a gun. And who are we to guide others lives when we can't seem to guide our own. Sometimes love can weaken and make dependent those we love too much. It would seem that only humans love so long. Most other animals raise their young to where they can fend some what for them selves and then leave them. Our efforts to raise children is like steering a speeding car be looking only out the rear view mirror. The world we were young in no longer exusts and the world our children must live in is perhaps not so kind. It seems now we have a morality of convienance. This is really true in the business world now. It seems that many worship the "BUCK" not any religion. And perhaps our religions are them selves corrupted. If Christ or Buddha were to return today would they not suffer the sam fate as Gaundi? It seems that Governments for the people and by the people are nly words when you see the real world of the big international big buch chasers. Any way thoughts are like leaves in the wind.

21.5.06 another rainy day

It's Sunday and recently it has just been raining enough to make painting impossible. The light values are changing too much and too fast.

Rhys' school has startrd again and I can get more done. I am working on 10 small double face pics on mylar, one huge 150x 200 cm painting for an competition in Japan. It is a peaceful samuari. Since I started on that one I also started two other works. Both of them are  fighting scenes but as an exercise in motion really. I am still working on the mixed media battle pic also. I have just started a mixed semi abstract pic of a matador fighting the bull. It is really different from what I usually do.

Still trying to  find us a new home in the USA so Rhys can continue his education. It is so hard trying to everything by inter net. We hace eliminated possible places to relocate down to six states. Now I am trying to find information about these locations. Very slow with little progress. It gets very disappointing and time is winding down.

Today I have a lot of pain but will move on.

25 april 2006

Sorry I have been buried under work and other problems recently. But will try to keep this blog current. I am working on two dancing them paintings. One painting I ntend to enter in the "art dept." competition. But sometimes the painting fights the artist. I don't want to surrender to my usual mehtod of charging "full ahead". The incomplete painting is shown in "in progress" of this site. I am turning over a new leaf rather than finishing a [painting I  stop and take a digital image. Then I study the digital paicture and compare it to the real thing.

I also am working on some oil pastel works on a black backing. I am intrigued by the contrast. It almost becomes "mono color".

Rhys is working on his new stories but cannot decide whuch story he wants to concentrate on. His mind jumps too much and it is very hard for him to get started.

It is storming every day and it is gloomy. Very depressing as  can't get enough good light to  work. But maybe the sun sonna shine on me soon.

Bye - Richard

12 april 2006

Hello again,

It's almost Soongron here ( Thai Happy New Year) and everything will come to a halt while we play with water. Soongron is a time when one gives garments to their elders and cleans the Temples and Buddha. Giving them new garments. Also to the Monks. But what use to be a custom of pouring a little water on the hands of others has became a full fledge water battle. Sometimes fire trucks are used.

I am just about finished with the painting of the dancers. I have started two other dancing theme  works also. A 50x100 cm. mixed media work about  Autism awats the final cat of wax. Yes I also work in wax. It's a  very difficult medium.

My son has been away for a few days and it has so quiet that I had to turn on the TV and everything else to produce enough noise that I can work to. He is working on his new stories. Rhys has set aside his guitar and painting for a while. I don't push him as I want the arts to be fun not work.

We are still planning to return to the USA so Rhys can continue his education. The prospect of the return worries me. I am getting  a little old and tired to  start over again. Some times I think my entire life has been starting over.Sorry I have to stop as I promised to read to Rhys.

What's happening

april 6 -Chakri Day (Buddhist religious day) - my son is at his Uncle and Aunts so I can get a lot of things done. I am in the process of up-dating my web sites.A lot of work. I will be showing "Sumos" here at Carpediem Galleries next month. I ma also in a group show in Argentina.

Rhys and I are still looking for the place to move to in the USA. But we are beginning to get some input from other People with Autistic children.

I will be applying for Grants to help us bear the cost of relocating.I hope I have some success.

It seems I am working on a couple of landscapes, three Dancers works, a mixed media landscape, and some  pastels. I also will be doing some more "Sumos" on transparent backings.

Rhys Corner has a new address - http://rhyscorner.richardwynneartist.com . I have just u[pdated it and there is a great cartoon by Rhys' Schol Draw Teacher. Please take a look and if you have time drop Rhys an e-mail.

That's all for today.

23-1-05

You know sometimes you must give up what you love most so that it may grow. Sad isn't it?

sunday 17_12_05

Its sunday here and my son is visiting his aunts. Rhys can hardly wait until christmas. He asked me is santa claus was real and my honest answer was yes. Because the spirit of christmas lives inside of all of us - I think even non-christians,

I am still working on the large battle scenes shown on "whats new". They take a long time.

I am also re-doing some older works that had faults in them.

I will post them next week.
